The narrow gauge museum in Anykščiai

Anykščiai Railway Station in is a siaurukasunique technical, architectural and cultural monument of the 19th and 20th centuries. Historical two-storey station building, residential houses for railway workers, water tower, storehouse, spacious cobbled square and steel bridge over the Šventoji River have been preserved within this complex up to the present days.

In 2003, making use of the European Union funds and the support from the Lithuanian Government, a modern pavilion was built to exhibit the collection of the rolling – stock, which includes a locomotive manufactured by Skoda factory in Czechoslovakia in 1949, which was brought to the museum from Švenčionėliai.

Travelling necessities, signal means of communication, torches, whistles and impressively large scales are only a part of the storehouse exposition.

Visitors can listen to an interesting story about the history of Lithuanian narrow gauge railway.
